About Needle

NEEDLE INSTITUTE OF
ACUPUNCTURE

Established in 1999, NEEDLE is Calicut’s premier Acupuncture research and training institute, harnessing the potential of holistic healing to help you maintain optimal health - for your body, mind, and spirit.

Building on the long-standing foundations of traditional Chinese medicine, we help unlock your body’s natural ability to self-heal. Our licensed acupuncturists are trained to develop personalised therapy plans, treating a wide range of health conditions including arthritis, high blood pressure, stress, addiction and fertility, among others.

We are affiliated with Indian Research Institute for Integrated Medicine (IRIIM), recognised by the Government of India, and also with the Government of West Bengal R&D Institute. We are the only institute in Kerala that offers Medical Council-recognised Acupuncture Courses.

All treatments are provided in welcoming, light-filled indoor and outdoor spaces with separate areas marked for male and female patients, affording maximum privacy for each visitor to our facility. An on-call doctor remains on the facility in case of a medical emergency.

Needle is headed by Dr. Abdul Gafoor, an Acupuncture Specialist who has been practising in Calicut since last 13 years. He received his training from the prestigious Nanjing University, China, and currently holds the position as a senior faculty member of IRIIM, WB, and is part of the teaching faculty of PG diploma under IGNOU, PSC, Kerala.

Located in the heart of Calicut, the Needle Institute was inaugurated by the noted defence scientist, Prof. Ram Gopal, in the presence of respected members of our Advisory Board including Prof. MVI Mami, Prof. S.A. Selvan and Dr. D Bahshi.
